“Although COVID-19 has been reported to be more severe than sCoV (seasonal coronavirus) infection in adults, the opposite appears to be true in children. (see: Rodriguez-Nava G, Egoryan G, Dong T, et al. Comparison of clinical characteristics and outcomes of hospitalized patients with seasonal coronavirus infection and COVID-19: a retrospective cohort study. BMC Infect Dis. 2022;22:618.) The results of the current study not only confirm that COVID-19 is mild in children, but also that it is milder than sCoV infection.”

“None of the patients in either group developed acute respiratory distress syndrome, and none died due to coronavirus infection. One patient in the COVID-19 group and 3 patients in the sCoV group had febrile seizures.”
