My new monograph, The Mufti’s Islamic Jew-Hatred—What The Nazi’s Learned from the “Muslim Pope” analyzes the canonical Islamic Jew-hatred and jihadism which were the core animating ideologies of the founder of the Palestinian Muslim jihadist movement, Hajj Amin el-Husseini, ex-Mufti of Jerusalem. The monograph features the first fully annotated translation and analysis of the most salient example of el-Husseini’s Islamic Weltanschauung—a 1937 proclamation/”fatwa” that he issued calling for a collective jihad by the entire global Muslim umma to destroy Palestinian Jewry. El-Husseini appositely concludes his compendious discourse on Islam’s canonical Jew-hatred with a central motif from Muslim eschatology (end of times theology), as recorded in the hadith (the alleged words and deeds of Islam’s prophet Muhammad, as compiled by his devoted companions)—how the destruction of the Jews is requisite for ushering in the messianic times. (Sahih Muslim, Book 041, Number 6985).
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: “The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: ‘Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him;’ but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.”
As I highlighted in discussing the delusive “deal” just brokered with Iran by the “P5 + 1”, despite the unique features of Shiite eschatology, its key point of consistency with Sunni understandings of this doctrine is that for “the coming of the hour,” and the dawning of messianic times, the Jews must be annihilated, as per the same canonical hadith (Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6985) attributed to Muhammad. For the Iranian regime, since the retrograde Khomeini “revolution” restored Iran’s Shiite theocracy, the destruction of Israel has been an openly avowed policy driven by these overlapping eschatological beliefs. Mohammad Hassan Rahimian, a representative of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the Iranian Martyr Foundation, summarized this annihilationist eschatology, redolent with Koranic Jew-hatred, during 2006:
The Jew is the most obstinate enemy (Koran 5:82) of the devout. And the main war will determine the destiny of mankind. . . . The reappearance of the Twelfth Imam will lead to a war between Israel and the Shia.
To complete the ugly “symmetry,” between the Palestinian Mufti, and the Iranian Mullahs, seven decades earlier, El-Husseini concluded his own litany of eleven antisemitic Koranic verses rationalizing Islam’s conspiratorial Jew-hatred in the 1937 fatwa, by invoking Koran 5:82.
Yesterday, Tuesday 11/27/13, during a WJRW AM interview I linked el-Husseini’s apocalyptic Jew-hatred with the shared ideology of Iran’s contemporary regime, and how the delusive “deal” just brokered with Iran is willfully blind to this annihilationist mentality.
