Sunday I will be on the radio with that shy wallflower Jackie Mason

Tomorrow, Sunday July 13th (on my birthday no less), I am privileged to be on the radio with that shy wallflower Jackie Mason. As Don Feder noted in the summer of 2004, Jackie pulled no punches stating (amongst other things), “ The Koran…is 50 versions of hate, venom, hostility and murder…”

The show airs between 4-7 PM EST, and I am slated to be on air about 6:05-6:30 PM EST.

While I anticipate having a serious discussion with Jackie about the salient findings in The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism, I confess that I can’t wait to share this anecdote from the book (p. 669) with him, and get his take on it:

From a letter to the editor published in the newspaper Akhir Sa’a and translated into French in a survey of newspapers that appeared in La Bourse egyptienne:

“It would seem that most people in Egypt are unaware of the fact that among Egyptian Muslims there are some who have white skin. Every time I board a tram I see people pointing at me saying, “Jew, Jew!” I have been beaten more than once because of this. For that reason I humbly beg that my picture (enclosed) be published with an explanation that I am not Jewish and that my name is Adham Mustafa Galeb.”
